From the Garden Plot: Outside You Go
How fast time flies! It seems like only yesterday I was starting my seeds in the basement during the cold of winter. Ah, but they could stay inside no longer. Yes, this weekend was spent outside in the glorious warmth of the sun placing my seedlings into their permanent home.

A very special shout out to my father and husband for meeting the fence completion deadline. Now it’s my turn. As the last bit of fence was anchored into place, I was already readying the raised beds for their new occupants.

So, what’s in the garden this year? Here’s the list (in no particular order):
Blue Lake Bush Beans, Jacob’s Cattle Beans, Muscade Carrots, Pandora Striped Rose Eggplant, Cayenne Pepper, Chinese Five Color Pepper, Australian Brown Onions, Bianca Di Maggio Onions, Red of Florence Onions, Lemon Squash, California Wonder Peppers, Jimmy Nardello Italian Peppers, Rainbow Swiss Chard, Tomatillo Verde, Amish Paste Tomato, Pink Brandywine tomato, San Marzano No. 2 Tomato, Yellow Pear Tomato and Striata d’Italia Zucchini.

I have at least two plants of everything, if not more. I even threw a few extra zucchini seedlings into a third raised bed. And, yes, I am trying to maximize my chances of feasting on homegrown zucchini flowers this year. Fingers crossed.

Now I water and wait … Oh and don’t tell my husband just yet, but I have a few other garden related projects up my sleeve … and you thought the hard work was done!
